The language situation at the beginning of the XXI century presents a very complex and contradictory picture ,which is caused by such globalized processes as the openness of borders, rapid intercultural exchange and, the most important one is the influence of Internet. It is updated a contradiction between the need of society in people that are ready and capable to intercultural collaboration on base of respect for cultural identity and low level of cross-cultural competence and tolerance. All this appeared as a fact of low cultural outlook of students and the immature formation of aesthetic feelings in a society. Is it good or bad? We have reflected this question and decided to investigate this problem from the point of literary education, which, in our opinion as integral part of culture is a special layer influencing on other academic disciplines.
Our article is devoted to the formation and development of cross-cultural competence of philology students based on the literature of Kazakhstan, where "their" and "other" cultural positions and values are manifested in dialogical mutually enriching relations. In the works of Kazakh modern and old poets and writers are confirmed the core structures of the national verbal and artistic picture of the world.
