Diagnosis of the development of soft skills among students in higher education

Abstract

Today, in the conditions of education system transformation, the formation of soft skills in future specialists is of great importance. The relevance of the article lies in the fact that it is necessary to introduce a comprehensive psychological and pedagogical framework in the development of soft skills among students of higher education institutions in the process of mastering the professional education program.

The aim of the article is to assess the level of development of soft skills among undergraduate and graduate students of higher education institutions of pedagogy and psychology.

The methodological basis of our study is the personal approach, which involves taking into account the individual characteristics of each subject, as well as the competence approach, which implies the organization of the pedagogical process through the understanding that human progress depends on the level of development of each individual. 

 The theoretical analysis of scientific works on flexible skills and the results of the experimental study allowed us to substantiate the importance of studying flexible skills and the necessity of their development in future specialists. It should be noted that flexible skills are permanent and determine the success of mastering professional competences.

The result of this study is a theoretical and practical substantiation of the importance of flexible skills of university students. 

The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the results obtained, are the key components for statistical data, as well as determine the priority direction in the creation of specialized models and programs for the development of flexible skills in higher education.

The practical significance of this paper focuses on the use of the results of theoretical analysis in the improvement of training programs for future professionals for professional activities.
