Introduction. This paper explores the issues of the formation of global competences in primary school pre-service teachers. Developing primary school pre-service teachers’ global competences is significant because they play a crucial role in laying the foundation for educating future specialists who contribute to the country’s development. Thus, it is essential to form and develop pre-service teachers’ global competences during their training at universities to equip them for future opportunities. Methods and methodology. Both theoretical and empirical methods were employed in this research. An adapted global competence scale survey was used to collect the data from pre-service primary school teachers. Results. The research revealed that pre-service primary school teachers are competent in theoretical knowledge but demonstrate limited ability to
apply it in practice. Scientific novelty. Although many studies have examined global competence, its importance and formation cases have not yet been investigated on a scientific basis - practical significance. The present research concluded that universities’ educational programs for pre-service teachers should include content aimed at forming and developing their global competences.
