This article presents a situational analysis of the intersectoral care for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Kazakhstan. The study analyzed legal documents from the health care, education, and social service sectors from 2017 to 2023, focusing on recent developments in the provision of comprehensive care for children with ASD, approaches, and problems in the implementation of these regulations, and an assessment of the possible benefits for the patient. The results were discussed by the project team, which includes specialists from the inclusive services field and parents of children with ASD. The study found that recent changes in the law have shifted from a medical model to a socio-pedagogical model, which focuses on creating conditions for the development of children with special educational needs in organization. New initiatives and improvements in health regulations regarding ASD area have been noted. The analysis also identified some challenges and opportunities for improvement in the intersectoral care system for children with ASD in Kazakhstan.
